well jon i don't think they are going to say "merry christmas to everyone except the jews, muslims, hindu, islamic, and all other non christmas celebrators" it just doesn't have the same ring to it. I think that's why people have started saying the more politically correct "happy holidays" but that's probally going to be called offensive to someone within the next decade

I'll just say, while I agree with you that it would suck if they singled out people not to say happy whatever to, consider it from the POV of the rest of us: if nothing else, its sensory overload at this time of year to see xmas stuff everywhere. I dont consider it offensive. I consider it to be overdone. A little of anything is fine and dandy but the stuff is ubiquitous. Can't turn on NPR without hearing refference to the holiday every 10minutes.

Aparantly in 1947, the FBI suspected that the movie Its A Wonderful Life was communist propaganda, which in the greater context of everything is quite hillarious to me. Perhaps you too.
